David Selman Bio
David Selman Bio: David is a native Texan and lives on a small farm just south of DFW. My wonderful wife, Alice and I were married in 1983. We have three successful grown kids and five of the sweetest grandkids ever. Our family has been an active member of Grace Church of Ovilla for 19 years. David worked for TXU Energy for 18 years and held positions in drafting, engineering, IT, legal, competitive intelligence, marketing, and process engineering.
After leaving TXU Energy due to a company downsizing, David started a construction and remodeling company with a business partner and gained tremendous residential home construction experience as a general contractor. After leaving the construction company, David attended American Home Inspection Training Institute to become a Professional Home Inspector. After becoming a licensed Professional Inspector, David also obtained certifications for wood destroying insect inspections, thermal imaging, septic inspections and has since earned the NACHI certification as a Master Home Inspector.
In addition, David is also a Texas Real Estate Commission-certified home inspector and real estate instructor. David now teaches the field training portion of the state requirements for American Home Inspection Training Institute.
Leveraging the work and life experiences from construction, engineering, IT and marketing, David opened Selman Home Inspections as a single inspector firm and in 2012 began adding additional inspectors to accommodate company growth. Today, Selman Home Inspections is a successful, leading home inspection company with multiple inspectors serving Dallas, Fort Worth, all of North Texas.
David and all of the home inspectors at Selman Home Inspections are dedicated to educating home buyers and sellers about the condition of houses and their repair and maintenance needs.
