One of the best ways to judge the quality and professionalism of the work completed by a home inspector is to take a look at their inspection report. We believe there are several ingredients that make up the most helpful reports.

• Firstly, they should be narrative reports, customized to each home and include detailed descriptions of concerns along with digital photos where appropriate or helpful.
• The report layout should be clear and user-friendly. Documented issues should be itemized so that problems identified in the home inspection can be easily communicated between parties when cross-communication takes place (usually during the post-report re-negotiation process).
